coming alive.

The dust-coated piano caught the girl's attention, making her stop in her tracks as morning light poured through the broken glass doors of the decaying house, casting shadows on the age-stained keys. Her gaze soon shifted to the fragile pages of sheet music sitting side by side against the music stand where someone must have tirelessly and endlessly played their notes years ago. The girl cautiously reached out a finger to test the yellowing keys, then she sat down on the piano's stool and began to pick out the notes on the sun specked sheet music. The piano suddenly came alive again, singing the same song it did years earlier, before being abandoned. And all too soon, the girl ended her one person symphony, moving on and leaving time to finish singing the song.
