yesterday felt like spring. my friends and i drove fast down a country road with the radio turned up loud and the windows halfway down, the wind whipping our hair in all sorts of directions. the sun was bright and sunglasses were a necessity. i ate lunch outside at the picnic table because the air was too fresh and beautiful not to. my feet carried me to a small patch of daffodils and i eagerly picked their delicate stems--right now they're resting in a glass jar that used to be a home to hot chocolate (and they smell so good). but then the sun dipped low behind the trees, forcing me to slip on a sweater and be reminded that it's not yet spring. and still i'm craving warm days, shorts, bare feet, and an extra hour of daylight. xx
